Eighty six years after we gained the right to vote, women hold only a small percentage of elected office in the nation. New Jersey has never had a female senator and currently, no women serve in our congressional delegation.
We must inspire the next generation of girls to improve on this record if we want our voices to be heard. New Jersey needs young women who envision themselves as political and community leaders and have the skills to succeed.
Running and Winning Workshop empowers girls and helps them realize that they can be political leaders. By helping more girls realize their own leadership potential and giving them confidence, Running and Winning is an important tool in encouraging girls in New Jersey to aspire to politics.
