Displaced Homemakers Network of NJ, Inc.
The dream of a lifetime, the classic fairy tale-a home, a hearth, the prince on a white horse gallops into your life, scoops you up and you live happily ever after. Dreams don't always come true.
Once upon a time Janet was a struggling single mom who thought she'd met her Prince Charming. They married and she believed they would live happily ever after. What Janet didn't know was that her Prince was an alcoholic. As his addiction to alcohol grew, so did the verbal and physical abuse. She thought she had no where to turn.
Thanks to one of New Jersey's 14 Displaced Homemakers Centers, once upon this time Janet was able to re-write her tale and become responsible for making her own dreams come true. Janet received career counseling, computer training, resume assistance and networking tips and was able to launch a career that could support her family.
